About the competition
In 2009, we introduced the AcappellaFest High School Contest. The clear winner was Cloud Nine — an exciting all-male group from Waubonsie Valley HS in Aurora, IL. Watch their AF09 YouTube video submission. They are pictured below, proudly displaying their 2009 Grand Champion trophy:
This year the contest is back but is now a full-fledged competition! We are changing things up a bit. There are now two rounds of competition. The First Round is an online contest judged by expert judges. The top finalists will move on to the live contest in the Final Round. That’s right — final judgement will be rendered LIVE on the AcappellaFest stage. These groups will be graded by a panel of a cappella celebrities and their scores will be combined with votes from the audience. A Grand Champion winner will be crowned! And this time, the Grand Champion gets to open for the evening headliner — Chapter 6!

The competition entry period began Wednesday, August 25, 2010 and ended Friday October 1, 2010.
Any musical genre is accepted: from pop to gospel, jazz to barbershop or classical to show tunes. As long as it is completely a cappella.
